Ingredients required to prepare Coconut ladoo recipe with jaggerey are as follows

  • Ghee (Clarified butter)
  • Shredded coconut (fresh or frozen) 1 bowl ( or 2 cups)
  • Jaggery powder 1/2 bowl (or 2/3 cup)
  • Ground cardamom seeds 1/2 teaspoon

After sautéing immediately add jaggery powder and some ground cardamom seeds and mix. Continue to cook for a few minutes or until you see these are mixed well.

Once mixed well cover and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes by keeping the flame at the lowest.

Uncover in between and stir.

Once you see the mixture is cooked well and looks nice turn off the flame 🔥 and allow it to cool completely.

Tips and Tricks to prepare perfect Coconut Ladoos

  • Freshly grated coconut is the best to use if it is available to you but in case you don’t have you may use the freshly shredded coconut frozen ones. That’s also great to use.
  • Once you added jaggery into the sauteed coconut mix well. Keep the flame low and stir and cook continuously for 3 to 4 minutes until the jaggery melts and the mixture looks temping.
  • Once you are done at the end you may also add any dry nuts of choice.
  • If you are not using powdered jaggery then make sure to melt the jaggery separately in low flame into a karahi or pan then mix it with the sauteed coconut.
  • You may increase or decrease the amount of jaggery according to the sweetness that you prefer.
  • While preparing ladoos if it feels sticky then rub some ghee into your palms.
  • Also, you may roll the ladoos in some dry desiccated or shredded coconuts
