Vegetable Manchurian dry, is the appetizer recipe which is very famous and fun to make. It’s basically a combination of vegetables that are being finely chopped and mixed with some base ingredient to form a thick batter and out of which small balls are being prepared. Then these vegetable balls are being deep-fried until turn nice and golden brown in color. Looks beautiful and delicious 🤤 I must say. I personally enjoy these even without any sauce or gravy as a teatime snack 🙂

Well, the next part of the recipe is to prepare the Manchurian Sauce. The sauce is basically prepared using some green chilis, finely chopped garlic cloves some onions 🧅, some black pepper, red Chill flakes, soy sauce, tomato sauce 🥫 little bit of sugar, and more portion of spring onions. All these are sautéed well into some oil and tossed with some big pieces of bell peppers 🫑 added into it to add some color. Then finally the Manchurian deep-fried balls are tossed and coated well with this sauce. Covered and cooked for a while and done ✔️. Serve or enjoyed with some fried rice or anything that you like.

To prepare Vegetable Manchurian we need finely chopped cabbage 🥬, finely grated carrots 🥕, finely chopped bell peppers 🫑, all-purpose flour as a base ingredient, some salt, cornstarch, red chili 🌶 powder, Ginger and garlic paste, and some water to prepare a thick sticky batter. Mix nicely using hands 🙌 to prepare this mixture. Add water 💧 gradually little by little to prepare the mixture. Make sure the mixture should not be too soft.

Apply some oil on your palm ✋ and shape these as balls. Prepare all and keep aside. Heat oil for deep frying these. Fry these until turns golden brown in color and look fried well. Fry all in 2 to 3 batches and keep aside until we make the sauce for these delicious Manchurian balls.

To prepare Manchurian Sauce we need to heat some oil into a frying pan. Throw in some green chili’s, some chopped garlic cloves, black pepper, and sauté few seconds. Then immediately add finely chopped onions and some good amount of spring onions into it and mix. Sprinkle some red chili 🌶flakes and sauté for few seconds. Add in some green bell pepper 🫑 cut into big pieces and sauté few seconds. Then add tomato sauce 🥫, some sriracha sauce into it, and give it a mix. Sprinkle some salt 🧂, add some soy sauce with a teaspoon of sugar and mix and cook few seconds. The sauce is ready and now immedietly add the fried Manchurian balls into it and give these a nice mix. Keeping the flame at the lowest, cover and cook these for 5 minutes and it is ready to serve:)

Serve hot with fried rice 🍚 or anything that you like to try 🙂

Ingredients required to prepare Vegetable Manchurian dry are ~

For the Manchurian balls ~

  • 1/2 bell pepper 🫑 cut into big pieces
  • 4 tablespoons of tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons of red sriracha sauce
  • 4 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Salt to sprinkle as per taste

Points to remember

  • While preparing the Manchurian balls make sure to add water slowly into it and mix. Avoid adding all the water together.
  • Preferably sprinkle salt at the end of the recipe as required to avoid too much salt as we have added 4 tablespoons of soy sauce in it and it has salt as well 🙂

Preparing the Manchurian Balls ~

Into a big bowl take finely chopped cabbage 🥬,

Finely grated carrots 🥕, finely chopped bell peppers 🫑,
