In this recipe, I am going to share how to prepare ground turkey with canned, slow-cooked baked beans with brown sugar and spices in them. This is a yummy and quick recipe to prepare. Ingredients required to prepare Ground turkey

  • Ground Turkey Net Wt 48 OZ
  • Baked beans canned slow cooked with brown sugar and spices (ready-made) 16 OZ (1 LB) 454 g
  • Olive oil 2 to 3 tablespoons to stir-fry the ground turkey
  • Onion 1 large-sized chopped
  • Salt as per taste
  • Regular oil to cook the spices 2 tablespoons
  • Green chili 1 chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 teaspoons
  • Red chili powder 1 teaspoon for color
  • Coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  • Chili garlic sauce 2 teaspoons
  • Water as required

The first step is to saute the ground turkey in some olive oil. Once the turkey meat turns white from pink and starts releasing water continuously stir in between and let these cook. In between cooking sprinkle some salt and mix. Gradually the water evaporates and the turkey meats look cooked well and start releasing a nice aroma. At this point turn off the flame and keep this aside for later use.

Next, heat some oil into a pan and saute 1 large onion chopped until it turns translucent and not raw anymore. Then add 1 green chili chopped and ginger and garlic paste. Saute these sometime. Next, add the spices like red chili powder, some coriander powder, and cumin powder, mix and quickly saute these.

Adding some chili sauce adds a little spicy flavor to it. Next, add the canned slow-cooked baked beans and mix. I bought these canned beans from a general store. If you don’t have this in your pantry then simply slow cook some beans at home and add mix with the cooked ground turkey. Once the beans are mixed well add cooked ground turkey along with some water into it to adjust the consistency according to your requirement.

Sprinkle some salt as required, mix well and let these cook and simmer on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes or until done. After being slowly cooked for a while, I see the gravy is getting thicker slowly and the meat and the beans are nicely cooked and look tempting. I simply turn off the flame. And this is now ready to be enjoyed with rice or bread or any siders that you like.

Step-by-step directions to prepare ground turkey with beans

To start with the recipe you need to cook the ground turkey meat well and then mixed up with the spices and the baked beans that are canned which I am using for this recipe.

Simply heat up some olive oil and cook ground turkey until the meat turns pink. Continuously stir and cook to avoid any burn. As you cook these for a while slowly it oozes out water. Continue to cook until all the water dries up at start releasing a nice cooked aroma from the meat.

Once you see all the water has dried and is nicely cooked, simply turn off the flame and keep this aside for later use.

In between cooking sprinkle some salt, and mix well.

Next heat up some oil, and stir fry one large-sized onion, chopped. Stir- and fry the onions until translucent and now raw anymore.

Next, add 1 green chili chopped, ginger and garlic paste 2 teaspoons, saute for a few minutes, then add red chili powder 1 teaspoon, coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon, cumin powder 1 teaspoon, mix nad quickly saute these.

Add chili garlic sauce 2 teaspoons, giving the dish a little spicy flavor. Give it a mix.
