In this recipe, I am going to share how to cook tilapia fish fillets at home. This is an easy tilapia recipe oven-baked and healthy. A great way to enjoy some baked seafood which goes great with chips and dips as siders or enjoy these with steamed rice, spaghetti, pasta, or bread. Ingredients required to prepare Tilapia fillets baked

  • Tilapia fillets 6 to 7 pieces
  • Yogurt (thick consistency) 1/2 cup
  • Green chili finely chopped 1
  • Red chili powder 2 teaspoons
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 teaspoons
  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds powder 2 teaspoons
  • Coriander powder 2 teaspoons
  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
  • Some Black peppercorns freshly crushed
  • Salt as required
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar 2 teaspoons
  • All-purpose flour 2 teaspoons
  • One lime juice
  • Coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons
  • Spray or drizzle some oil

Refrigerate for 1 hour or more before you bake these for the best results.

Gently wash tilapia fillets under running water, then pat dry these using a kitchen towel or a tissue to soak any extra water from the fillets. Next, into an oven-safe container mix in some spices along with some thick yogurt. Marinate and Keep these refrigerated for 1 hour or more for better results.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 35 to 45 minutes or until the top of the fish has browned and looks tempting.

Step-by-Step Directions to prepare Tilapia fish

The first step is to wash the fish fillets gently under running water, then pat dry these using a kitchen towel or a tissue.

Into a mixing container that is oven-safe, collect all the spices that you want to use as marination along with some yogurt.

I am using some thick yogurt, into it then add ginger garlic paste, green chili, red chili powder, cumin seeds, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, some crushed black peppercorns, salt as per taste, a pinch of turmeric powder, some sugar, and some all-purpose flour.

Mixed these well. Squeeze one lime juice and give it a mix again.

Next, add some chopped coriander leaves. Add the fish fillets one by one into the marination. Coat both sides nicely.

Use a fork to make pores all over the fillets. This helps go the spiced marination inside the fish making it tastier.

Spray or drizzle some oil on top of these, which helps in cooking them better.

Repeat the same on the other side as well.

Cover and refrigerate. Let these stay marinated for an hour or more.

Uncover and bake these in a preheated oven. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, for about 35 to 45 minutes or until the top has browned and looks tempting.

As you see these are now well cooked. Browned on the top and looks nice.

Serve and enjoy these hot, and spiced fish filets with some sauce, chips, and dips, or the way you like.
