Importance of the ingredients used to prepare the pizza base

Whole Wheat flour: adds some fiber and forms a texture once baked.

All-purpose flour: helps form the texture adds taste to the pizza crust.

Salt: strengthens the dough by tightening the gluten structure. Salt also helps regulate the yeast. and also salt along with the sugar balances the taste and flavor of the pizza crust.

Oil: provides softness and helps it cook well. It also helps the kneading process much easier. The dough stretches well when oil is added and becomes nonsticky too.

Water: contains minerals that help feed the yeast. Sufficient water is needed for the fermentation of the dough and for the yeast to work in the process. It helps form the dough. Combines everything well and helps it cook nicer as well. If the water is too less, however, the fermentation rate will be reduced and the dough will not be fermented nicely thus resulting in a hard pizza dough crust.

Yeast: acts as a leavening agent which helps raise the dough thus forming the dough base airy and bubbly kind of bread structure or a pizza crust.

Note: Resting the dough helps the yeast to ferment it thus resulting in rising in volume. Since I am using whole wheat in the recipe the dough would not visually rise much in volume which is different in the case when I used only all-purpose flour in the recipe for preparing pizza crust. This is what I have experienced when using different flours for preparing pizzas at home. Also, this depends on the temperature of the room and the amount of resting time that is being allowed for the dough to help it rise. Hope this helps
Overall, The Flour, Room temperature, and the Resting time of the dough are the factors resulting in the rise of the dough.

Resting time of the Dough

Preferably place it in a warmer place. Say like inside an oven to give the dough a damp atmosphere for at least 2 hours. If the temperature of your room is warm then cover and leave it on the countertop of your kitchen.
