International Paper sizes A4, B5, A5 the most commonly used paper sizes in the World.
In international paper sizes, the most common paper sizes used are Letter size, whereas most countries use paper size. In most countries, the standard paper size used is A4 which is the closest to the letter size. A4 size is slightly longer and narrower than the letter size.
International Paper size falls into one of these series, the A-series, and the B series.
International Paper Sizes Explained!
Let’s start with the A-series: The largest size is A0. To get the next size cut the A0 size to half. Now you having 1. Cut that one again into half you will get 2. Due to the paper’s aspect ratio that is 1: to the square root 2, (1:√2) it’s able to keep the same proportion each time it’s cut into half. The image below shows an example of the sizes.

B series follows the same principle as the A-series. Each size has an aspect ratio of 1 to the square root of 2. And the next size down has the same size as the previous one. B series are made to fit in between A-series sizes starting with B0. A-Sizes are the same everywhere but the B size varies.
In Japan B sizes are slightly larger than the standard B sizes in other countries. Semi B5 is the same as standard B5 size in other countries.
The most commonly used paper sizes go from A4 to B7. Recommend sizes for loose-leaf paper, notebooks, and note pads vary from A4 to B7 sizes.
