How to start a food blog

In this post, I am going to share how to start specifically a Food blog in 2022. I have been blogging for 2 years now and I am not disappointed at all. Well, it takes a while to get ranked in Google and requires a little effort but at least for me, I enjoyed the process of my blogging journey and tried many other contents related to affiliate marketing, eco-friendly products, and all. Well for me it seems really easy which interests me and I like if I can pass on some ideas through it to others.

Sharing things on any topic that benefits others from your experience is always appreciated. And I don’t mind sharing on topics, like Food/recipes, health or life. I also don’t mind sharing what I like and enjoy hoping there are many on the other side who are just like me 🙂 After all, every individual is unique and has their own taste buds. Okay now, let me share with you all the steps and necessary tips you need to follow when you start to plan your Food blog. Though the installation process of buying and hosting a blog would be the same for all blog types. But I am mentioning it because I started blogging with Food recipes.

In this post, I am sharing how I installed WordPress blog and buy the hosting to get by blog running. My specification is about Food blogging.

How to start a Food Blog in few steps.

Step 1- Share, that you are passionate about

To start with a Food Blog you need to think a little bit differently. Instead of choosing a Niche, in the beginning, you may just focus on a wider topic like for example any food recipes, or food-related articles, cooking healthy, or say eating healthy tips and tricks like that.

Also, you may keep vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections both, and post articles on both topics if that is convenient to you. Or you may just keep specific Niche like vegetarian blog recipes or Nonvegetarian blog recipes like that, and so on.

For the very first time in your blog post share something that you know about and have some knowledge about it and could help others in some ways. Keep continuously posting your ideas and contents and eventually, you will notice some views start to come. It could not happen though overnight, it takes time, some knowledge, there has to be something into it that people are liking to click on your post. It has to be attractive, the contents have to be clear, etc. Slowly you will understand what posts are getting more views and you can then focus a little more on those topics and try to post more articles on those specific topics.

In this blog, you will find different sections, and posts related to that. Like Vegetarian recipes, Non-vegetarian Recipes, Cakes, Sweets and Desserts, Snacks, Appetizers, Dairy, etc. As I mentioned above that you may also choose a broader Niche that includes all of these but all are surely related to food.

Step 2- Break the wrong misconception

You do not have to be a great writer to share your simple thoughts via blogging. It just has to have some value in it to be ranked on google. . And that’s all you need to understand. Well, it’s completely a misconception to think like this, so believe me and start your blog today 🙂

Step 3- Buying a Blog hosting

Blue host is one of the tops recommended WordPress providers by WordPress.org, And I’m using WordPress blogging software because it is the most popular, customizable, and easiest to use.

The web host I recommend is the Blue host. I personally use BlueHost and I recommend them for all new bloggers.

Writing your first blog post.

Now that you are all set with the blog domain name and hosting you are good to start. That’s the most exciting part of blogging I guess.

Go to the dashboard of your homepage. Click on the post on the left side of the dashboard and there will be a default page you see that comes up and you need to simply trash the default page setting to write your new post. So go ahead and click on New Post which is located on the left-hand side of the blog, or right on the top bar, you can see this option.

Simply click on the create a new page and start writing your first post. First type the heading of your post say for example My First Food Blog Post or say 5 tips to boost your energy, etc, and so on. To start with any topic you must put a catchy useful heading that relates to the body of the post. Like, put the heading then the body or the content of the blog. Next, write under the subheadings related to the main heading and so on.

When you click on the center of the page you will see that you can add an image in between the contents of your post. Also, you had a blog header image and the featured image options on the right-hand side, down below the post as shown in the image below.

Once you have finished your post just click the “Publish” button on the top right side of the screen to publish the new post.

Blog must have these pages.

  • Static Page and
  • Dianamic page

Static Page

Static Page means the content of this page should contain the menu of the blog which includes the About me section, Contact me section. In the About me section, you need to introduce a little bit about yourself and your goal for this blog. What is this blog about and so on.

Contact me page should have your contact details like your e-mail address, residential address, or other social media links to show your audience that you are a real person and not fake. To provide information about yourself through which your visitors can contact you (the author) of the blog. Or you can utilize a simple contact form to keep your personally identifying information private. You should put links to all of your social media profiles here as well.

Other Static pages includes

Disclaimer page If you intend to monetize your blog, you must describe the ways you intend to generate income. This is an absolute must-have page that should not be overlooked, as per FTC guidelines. For example, if you are discussing and endorsing a product, and stand to profit by linking to the product, this relationship must be disclosed.

Privacy policy If you collect data from your visitors in any way, you are required to add a privacy policy page that tells visitors exactly how you are collecting data, how you are using it, and if you are sharing that data. If you implement Google Adsense or a Google Analytics account on your blog, a Privacy Policy must be used. This page is required by the CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and is included by default on your WordPress blog.

Terms of services If your blog is also running a store or selling services, it is a good idea to have a Terms of Service page to lessen your potential liability.

Dianamic page

Your dynamic content is your blog and the most important content you have to offer. This is where you, as the creator, will infuse the blog with your brand of informative content that supplies your audience with knowledgeable tips, facts, opinions, and stories through your experience. This is how you engage your visitors and keep them coming back for more.

Make sure to keep posting your blog content regularly. Waiting months to create content will never build a following. Posting content weekly and driving traffic to these posts will help build your brand.

Once you are done setting up these pages along with the content. Proceed to Post blog content that you want to share.
