It is so important for our recipes to get some touch of extra flavor from our favorite fresh herbs πŸͺ΄ to make the recipe special and unfortunately, always it is not possible to do that and going to the grocery store immediately and buying these are harder unless you have a small kitchen garden πŸͺ΄ to get these handy anytime.

One day unknowingly I bought two bundles of fresh coriander and mint leaves. I thought I will prepare some chutneys and refrigerate them so that they don’t get wasted. But for some reason, I couldn’t prepare the chutneys for about a week or so and I tried this trick and got really surprised to see the result and felt so happy πŸ˜ƒ to see that even after two weeks I was able to use the leaves in my recipes. They looked pretty fresh in the refrigerator and this bought a smile 😊 on my face. So to keep our herbs fresh longer we can try this trick. The only important thing is that these have to be fresh right from the beginning.

Step by step method along with the images shown below

The bunch of coriander leaves or mint leaves has to be fresh. Simply untag the bunch of cilantro/coriander and remove any dried or yellow leaves from it. While you do this your hands need to be completely dried not wet. And also the leaves should not be wet.

Cut the tag

Unpack the bunch

Remove any dried or a yellow leaf πŸƒ

Trim the edges of the stems a little bit if required

Take a glass or a container filled half with water

Tuck the stems inside the glass filled half with water

The image below shows that the stems are dipped complexly in the water.

Refrigerate

Refrigerate immediately to keep these fresh for longer.

Whenever required just take these out cut out some leaves and enjoy using them in your recipes fresh !!!
