  3. Pour the granola mixture into the pan and press it down firmly.
  4. Bake for between 20-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before cutting into bars.

Granola bars in 3 different flavor’s: Below are the recipes for Granola bars simply made at home with regular ingredients:

Ingredients for Granola bar almond flavor:

  • Oats 2/4 cups
  • Whole-grain cereal 1/4 cup
  • 2 oz of butter
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 tbsp or 15 ml of almond butter.
  • Vanilla essence optional
  • Raisins 7-10
  • Whole Almonds around 10-12

Directions:

Into a bowl take butter, sugar, salt, honey and warm it up by putting it on low flame and give it a boil for few seconds so that it mixes and melts up nicely.

Into another bowl take quick oats and add the sugar syrup that we made. Put 10-12 almonds and the raisins along with the whole grain cereals i.e 1/4 cup. Put 1tbsp of almond butter and mix.

When all the above ingredients mixes well pour them into a container preferably square-shaped so that they take the shape of bars when cut into pieces when firm.

Make sure to use the parchment paper into the bottom of the container before pouring the mixture. This will help the mixture not to stick to the container and easy to take it out and cut into pieces.

Refrigerate:

Cover the box or container and refrigerate minimum for three hours. Then take it out and cut into pieces.

Store it back to the refrigerator if not to be eaten right away.

Ingredients for granola bars chocolate flavor:

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar liquid form
  • 2 ounce of butter
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate rice cereal
  • Some Chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp of cocoa powder
  • 4 dates chopped
  • 2 tbsp of honey
  • Some hand-crushed and tossed cashews and almonds

Directions:

Chop 4 dates. Take out the seeds and discard.

Into a bowl add 2 oz of butter and 1 tsp of cocoa powder and warm it up in low flame or just microwave for few seconds. When it melts. When it melts add 1 tbsp of Nutella/hazelnut spread into it to enhance the taste of nutty flavor.

Add the dates and 2 tbsp of honey. Put 1/2 cup of chocolate cereal into it. Add quick oats 1/2 cup.

Add chocolate chips and some seasoned nuts. I have used some hand crushed cashews and almonds sauteed in some butter with a pinch of salt and sugar. You may choose any dry nuts of your choice.

Add 1/4 cup of brown sugar liquid form. In order to make liquid sugar, you need sugar and add little water to it as required just to melt the sugar in it by heating it up until all the sugar dissolves completely.

Combine and mix all the above ingredients together. Pour the mixture in a square-shaped container by placing a parchment paper to avoid sticking.

Press the mixture really nice by using hands or spatula.

Refrigerate:

Refrigerate for 3 hours then take it out and cut it into pieces.

Ingredients for granola bars marshmallow flavor:

  • Rice puffs 1/2 cup dry roasted
  • Oats 1 and 1/2 cup sauteed in some butter
  • Mash mellows small size 10 to 15
  • Brown sugar 3 tsp
  • Dates 4
  • Butter 2 oz
  • 2 tsp of water
  • 12 to 15 tossed sweet and salty pistachios

Note: I have used my own choice of nuts, but you may choose any nuts and dry fruits you like.

Directions:

Dry roast 1 and 1/2 cup rice puffs in a pan. Sauté 1 and 1/2 cup of oats in 1 tsp of butter until golden brown. Keep aside and them cool.

Into a microwave-safe bowl put marshmallows 10 to 15 pieces, add 2 oz of salted butter, brown sugar 3 tsp, and 2 to 3 tsp of water. Microwave all the ingredients for a few seconds and stir.

Into a bowl mix rice puffs, oats and marshmallow mixture and mix together along with with the dates (4 chopped), and sweet and salty pistachios. Combine and mix really nice and transfer the mixture into a square-shaped container by placing a parchment paper to avoid sticking.

Refrigerate:

Refrigerate for 3 hours then take it out and cut it into pieces and enjoy.

Can I use any other nuts instead of roasted ones?

For preparing Granola bars at home. Yes, you can use any other nuts instead of roasted ones. You can use raw nuts or any other type of nuts that you prefer. If you are using raw nuts, you can toast them in the oven for a few minutes before adding them to the granola mixture to give them a roasted flavor.
