About Garlic Chickpeas:

These are Garlic Chickpeas’ extra crunchy and crispy snack recipes easy to make. A healthy way of snaking anytime. Chickpeas are being soaked in saltwater with a pinch of baking soda in them and kept overnight. The other day water is being drained and the chickpeas are refrigerated for a few hours. These chickpeas are then mixed with spices and corn starch and baked twice until they turn out extra crispy, light, and crunchy.

Ingredients required to make Garlic chickpeas Crispy and crunchy are as follows:

Chickpeas 2 cups soaked in water overnight, drained, patted dried and refrigerated.

Oil: 1 tablespoon

Corn starch: 2 tablespoons

Cumin powder: 2 teaspoons

Black pepper powder: 1 tablespoon

Paprika or red chili powder: 1 tablespoon

Garlic powder 1 and a 1/2 teaspoon

Black salt: 1 teaspoon

White regular salt a pinch

You may also increase or decrease the amount of spices as per taste.

Directions to prepare Garlic Chickpeas Crispy and crunchy in the oven are as follows:

Soak chickpeas overnight in Sufficient water adding some salt and baking soda in it.

The other day drain the water and wash them

Pat dry the chickpeas using a cotton cloth or a kitchen towel and allow to completely dry.

Put them in a ziplock bag and refrigerate for few hours

Mixing up with the spices:

Transfer chickpeas into a bowl and add all the spices mentioned above. You may adjust the amount of spices as per your taste. Add oil 1 tablespoon then add cornstarch 2 tablespoons, garlic powder 1 and a 1/2 or 2 tablespoons, cumin powder 2 teaspoon, black salt 2 teaspoon, regular salt 1 and a 1/2 or add as per your taste. Black pepper powder 2 teaspoon, paprika or red chili powder 2 teaspoons. Combine and mix all nicely onto a flat plate by spreading the chickpeas nicely using hands. Coating the spices becomes easy on a flat large surface. Note: Remove loose skin if any.

Baking intructions:

Onto a baking tray by placing parchment paper spread the coated chickpeas nicely and bake for around 35 to 40 minutes in 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure to check-in between.

Take them out and allow to cool completely.

Put them back again into the pre heated oven for about 30 minutes and take them out. Taste one. It should be hard and light enough once completely cold.

Enjoy tea coffee or plain it’s just fun eating them. It’s a great healthy snack on the go anytime.

  • Soaking 6 to 7 hours or overnight
  • Mixing up the spices 5 minutes
  • Bake: 40+30 minutes: Total 1 hour 10 minutes
