Sweet Mint with Garlic Chutney is made with Mint leaves, some Garlic Cloves, Tamarind concentrate, a pinch of salt, and sugar. Very simple to make and gets ready in just 2 minutes. You may enjoy this chutney with any of your favorite Kachoris, Dhal fritters, french fries, samosa, biryani’s, etc

If trying for the first time then make sure that for 5 cups of mint leaves use only 5 to 7 garlic cloves, because too much will give it a strong pungent flavor. And if you are a garlic lover like me then it should be perfect to add a little more 🙂 So go ahead and try it out according to your taste and flavor. You may also adjust the sweetness and sourness as well 🙂
Ingredients required
- Ingredients required 2 bundles of mint leaves or
- 5 cups Garlic cloves 5-7 or as per taste
- Lemon or lime juice 1/2 or as required
- Tamarind concentrate 1 teaspoon or fresh tamarind pulp
- A pinch of salt
- Sugar 1/4 + 4 tablespoons or as required
- Green chili chopped 1/2 or as required
- Water 2 tablespoons
Total time to preapare
- Pre- preparations include washing and cleaning i.e 2 minutes
- Time to grind these 2 – 3 minutes
- Total time 5 minutes
Directions to prepare along with the images below.
Simply wash and clean around two bundles of mint leaves or say 5 cups, thoroughly under running warm water.
Peel and wash the garlic cloves 5 to 7 in numbers. Transfer them into the grinding jar
Add sugar 1/4 cup + 4 tablespoons or as required
Squeeze 1/2 of the lemon or lime juice
Add concentrated tamarind 1 teaspoon
Add 2 tablespoons of water to form a paste
Into it add a pinch of salt
Chop 1/2 green chili
Grind these well to form a paste out it.
You may adjust the consistency by adding little extra water and mixing it up nicely. And Its now ready to enjoy 🙂
