In this guide, I am going to go through Pinterest Optimization- (SEO AND HEO) in order to improvise and grow your business.

I am on Pinterest for a long time now and have learned things from this platform and that Pinterest optimization involves two categories:

  1. SEO-friendly — Search Engine Optimization of profile, boards & pins

2. Eye-Catching — HEO (Human Engagement Optimization) of its visual game

There are two main features of Pinterest that offer a double real estate to leverage the market or to promote your brand. The Text (title/description) and the Visuals or Graphics.

A business profile is recommended to enjoy the additional features otherwise you can optimize both personal and business accounts to grow.

The branding process for both types of profiles is the same so if you need to optimize your personal profile then you can skip opening a new account.

When you see the image above. By default, the Pinterest cover image is the large collage of food images at the top of the profile displaying the pins statically and the round frame is the Pinterest profile image.

Steps to upload a Profile Cover:

  1. In your business profile, when you hover over the page there appears a tiny pencil icon. By clicking on that icon you on the top right side of the corner you can upload a cover image.
  2. Click on the Upload image or video, choose one from the storage, Crop, or adjust the image according to the size to fit into the frame.
  3. You may also choose a small video in your business profile as per the size recommended.

Pinterest Boards and Branding:

Boards are the categories that you want to share with your audiences. Different boards can be created depending on the choice of your interest. You may create as many boards as you want (up to 500) and visually make them appealing and storing good content. I would like to discuss more about board branding and content creating in my next post topic.
