Paneer Butter Masala is the buttery gravy with soft mouth melting paneer dipped into it. The smooth and silky buttery texture makes this dish so special. The actual flavor comes from the butter and the tomatoes along with the silky smooth creamy flavor of the fresh cream that has been added. The rest of the flavors comes from garlic, fenugreek leaves (Kasuri methi), and the whole Indian spices. In short, its all-over flavor and texture are buttery, silky, smooth, and slightly sweet and a mild tangy which simply melts into the mouth and is so heavenly. It goes great with Butter Naan, Fried rice or pulav, Paratha, Basmati rice, etc.
In this recipe, I have used tomato paste instead of using fresh tomatoes, you may use that too. I personally choose to use the canned fresh tomato paste because it is easy and quick to prepare and adds more thickness and richness to the paneer butter gravy which tastes amazing.
