About homemade white bread:
Homemade white bread is made with plain flour, little sugar, and salt mixed with yeast and that’s all you need to make this soft and plain white bread 🍞 simply at home. This is a handmade and homemade bread recipe easy to make and could be enjoyed in many ways. Before when I tried this recipe I never thought it would be so good 😊 and I’m simply loving this now. I enjoy the kneading and the soft fluffy texture of the bread and I thoroughly enjoyed making this and would love to share my experience with everyone.
Taste and texture of homemade white bread:
Taste is plain, soft in texture and less salty. Homemade white is more likely to be clean and healthy as it is made with care and love so obviously it is much better than the outside breads.
Ingredients needed to make homemade white bread are as follows:
Plain flour: 3 cups
Water: 1 cup 50 ml approximate
Little extra flour for sprinkling on top of the bread dough while making
Oil 1 teaspoon
Yeast 1/4 teaspoon
Sugar 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Butter 1 teaspoon for brushing up the bread once baked.
Preparing the yeast:
Into a container take 1 cup and 50 ml of lukewarm water. Put 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of salt into it and stir to dissolve the sugar. Into it then add 1/4 teaspoon of Active dry yeast and let it stay for about 2 minutes. Gradually the Yeast turns frothy within few minutes and it’s ready to be used.
Preparing the dough:
I’m using white plain flour for this recipe because as far as of my experience this is the best flour for making bread at home and that’s too if you are preparing this for the first time so this is definitely going to make you very happy with the results. Just follow the few steps carefully. Also, watch the video that I have made to understand better. So let’s begin the recipe.
Into a large bowl take 3 cups of white plain flour. Pour the prepared Yeast mixture into it and mix them with a spatula initially to avoid too much of sticking to the hands. Later use hands to knead it thoroughly with. Though it’s impossible to avoid using hands even if you are using g a machine. Only thing is that you can skip the kneading time with matching and it becomes a little easier. But I personally enjoy making the dough with hands for my bread.
Kneading the dough:
Once you are done mixing the yeast water and the flour. Transfer the dough mixture on a flat surface, sprinkle some dry flour below the surface and on top for easier kneading. ( Do not use dry flour too much ) Knead the mixture for at least 5 minutes. Apply oil into your hands in between to manage kneading. Overall oil that I used to knead the dough is 1 teaspoon. The only way I used the oil is by applying it on hands while kneading instead pouring all directly into the dough. Slowly the mixture turns into a soft, and a not too sticky dough. Gradually it starts to leave the surface without sticking much on the surface and becomes easier to hold.
Once done kneading for about 5 to 7 minutes. Cover the dough with a plastic wrap or cloth for at least 2 hours or unless you see the dough size has doubled. Sometimes the rise in the size slows down due to the temperature of the room. Warmer temperature helps it rise quicker. So allow it sufficient time for the first rise.
When you see it has risen enough take it out from the container. While you take it out apply some oil or dry flour to scrape through the corners for making it a little less sticky on your fingertips. Now this time for the second rise I do not knead the dough too much. Just spread the dough on the surface and press it little with light hands all over and shape it up using some dry flour that’s it.
Shaping of the bread dough:
Place it on the flat surface or a plate by sprinkling some dry flour on the surface first then flatten and shape up the dough by pulling it backward and making an oval-shaped ball. Or make a shape that you like your bread to look like according to your baking container that you are going to use.
Now for the second rise, place it on a baking pan by sprinkling some plain flour and put the dough on top of it. Apply some oil on top and cover with a plastic wrap or cloth. Make sure to cover it nice and again keep it for one and a half or two hours. Or unless you see it has doubled the size this time. Also, make sure you are using a bigger size container because the dough will rise. Sometimes it rises really well!
Baking:
Once it has risen. Put it in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 40 minutes. The top of the bread turns brown in color and it should look bigger in size.
Take it out from the oven and let it cool. Let it completely cooled down and then scrape a little bit from the sides with the help of a knife or fork, and pull it up or turn upside down. Once cooled apply some butter on top with brush to keep it moist. Cut it into pieces and enjoy.
Serve:
Serve these fresh homemade bread with cheese butter or make sandwiches and enjoy. These are simply awesome in taste and texture. Check out one bread pizza 🍕 recipe here if you want to try these with your homemade bread 🍞 https://sonalichoudhury.com/blog/bread-pizza/

Total time consumed:
First kneading time and preparation including time to rise the dough : 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Second rise time: 2 hours 10 minutes.
Time to bake: 40 minutes
Time to cool completely: 30 minutes
Tips:
Always pre heat the oven before putting the bread inside the oven for baking. This would help the yeast to react properly with the baking of the bread. Constant and immediate heat is important for baking purposes.
Don’t skip the knead time or else the bread would turn hard and will give no good results. Knead thoroughly for few minutes is important.
You may also use instant yeast instead using dry active yeast. But it is always good if you mix the yeast first into the water or milk or any liquid that you are going to use even if you are using the instant one for allowing it to mix nicer with the dough.
Applying oil into the hands while kneading helps to knead it nicer and easier rather than using it directly into the dough.
Allow sufficient time to rise the dough. Sometime the rise of the dough depends on the room temperature that you have put in, so it may vary.
Do not cover the bread 🍞 immediately after done with baking when hot. It will make the bread wet and soggy with evaporated water. Keep it open and allow it to cool completely before covering or cutting and storing.
