Ingredients required to prepare Creamy Potato Pepper Chicken are as follows:
- Chicken with bones 8 to 10 pieces
- Cardamoms whole 5 to 6
- Black peppers whole 1 teaspoon
- Potatoes 3 medium sized cut into big pieces and boiled
- Cream 1 and a half cups
- Black pepper powder 1 tablespoon
- Cardamom powder 2 tablespoons
- Salt 2 and a 1/2 teaspoons or as per taste
- Green chili or red chili powder 2 teaspoons
- Water 1 and 1/2 cup total. Add extra if required while cooking the chicken.
- Oil 3 tablespoons or as required to fry the chicken pieces.
Steps to follow while preparing Creamy Potato pepper chicken are as follows:
Clean and wash chicken pieces with bones around 8 to 10 pieces.
Heat 3 tablespoons of oil into the frying pan and add 1 tablespoon of whole black pepper and 6 to 8 cardamoms (whole) into it. Sauté them few seconds.
Add chicken pieces and stir and fry them. Add 2 and 1/2 teaspoons of salt and mix. Pour 1/2 cup of water into it and cover and cook the chicken in low to medium flame until the chicken gets soft and tender. Check-in between and stir to avoid burning. Chicken must be 90 percent cooked. Add extra water if required to properly cook the chicken.
Once the chicken is soft and tender add black pepper powder 1 tablespoon, cardamom powder 2 tablespoons, green chili or red chili powder 2 teaspoons, or as per taste. Mix spices and the chicken well. Add 1/2 cup of water and the boiled big pieces of potatoes into it ( potatoes 3 medium size cut and boiled ) Mix well and add Cream 1 and a 1/2 cup and little more water around 1/2 cup. Then cover and cook for 15 to 20 minutes in low to medium flame. Check-in between to avoid burning. Cook until done.
