This is a 3 layered cream cheese chocolate cake recipe super soft in texture. Once you try this you will never feel like to buy it from outside.

Taste and texture of Chocolate Cake:

Very soft and pure chocolate taste.

Pre preparations:

  1. Milk must be room temperature or lukewarm.
  2. Grate the chocolate bar with the help of a grater or get readymade pure dark chocolate flakes .
  3. Eggs must be room temperature
  4. Get readymade Icing sugar or make it at home simply grinding the regular sugar at home into the grinder.

Ingredients:

  • Flour (All purpose) 1 cup
  • Eggs 3 whole
  • Butter 1 cube (4oz)
  • Icing sugar 1 1/2 cup
  • Cocoa powder 1/2 cup
  • Baking powder 1 tbsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tbsp
  • Milk 1 cup ( room temperature)
  • Vanilla essence 1 tbsp

Bowl 1 – In a bowl add 3 whole eggs add 1 tbsp of oil, unsalted butter 4 OZ i.e one cube and beat well. Add cocoa powder 1 1/2 cup and mix until smooth.

Bowl 2 –Into a separate bowl add flour one cup, add salt one tbsp, baking powder one tbsp, icing sugar 1 1/2 cup and mix well. Now mix these to bowl 1.

Mix them all nicely until it becomes soft and smooth batter.

Into this mixture then add 1 cup of lukewarm milk or room temperature milk and mix again nicely so that it forms a semi liquid batter. Into this then add 1 tbsp of vanilla essence and give it a mix.

Note: In this recipe i am using more amount of milk because it will help the cake to bake flat and very soft.

Baking process:

Into a baking pan place a baking sheet. Stick the baking sheet with the help of a little butter or oil. Pour more then half of the batter into it because this will give you two layers of cake . You can use 3 baking pans parallel by dividing the cake batter into 3 equal portions or you may bake 3 times using the same pan. Since I have one pan i baked it for two times.

Note: Leave some space on top of the pan so that the cake gets enough space to rise.

Baking time :

First baking bowl: Bake it in the oven at 350F for 42 minutes. Put a knife or fork inside to check if it is baked right or not. If the knife comes out clear this means it is nicely baked.

Second baking bowl: Similarly bake this bowl in the same way. Pour the left batter into the pan and bake it for 23 minutes.

Once baking is done let it cool completely and place the cake in a flat surface or flat plate. This will help you to cut the cake into two halves and makes icing easier.

Icing on the chocolate cake:

For this chocolate cake i have prepared cream cheese chocolate icing which simply tastes awesome. For cream cheese chocolate icing we need.

  • Cream cheese one cube i.e 6 OZ
  • Icing sugar 1cup
  • Butter ( unsalted) 1/2 cube i.e 3 OZ
  • Cocoa powder 1/2 cup
  • Milk ( lukewarm) 2-3 tbsp

Mix the mixture well until stiff and soft. You can see the image below or may see the texture of the icing properly in the attached video below.

Making three layers:

  1. First – place the cake into flat surface or plate after baking and let it cool completely before cutting into two halves.
  2. Second – If the cake is too soft after cooking then chill it for sometime before cutting and doing the icing.
  3. Third – you can use thread or knife to cut it into two halves.

In this recipe I have divided the bigger cake into two halves which then becomes same levels to the other baked one.

Icing and decorating :

Now comes the step for icing. In between each layer of cake put some cream cheese chocolate icing around one spoon full covering the top and the sides as well. To the side wall thin layer will do.

Coating with chocolate flakes:

Coat the side wall of the cake with chocolate flakes. Also sprinkle the top of the cake with chocolate flakes. It gives a gorgeous look.

Then with the same icing do some decoration. I have used icing bag for the decoration.

Serving tips:

You can cut the cake right a way and serve. But chilling is recommended before cutting and serving the cake for better result.
