Rice Pudding/Kheer

Pour milk into a deep pan and bring it to a boil. Once it is heated up lower the flame Add washed and cleaned rice into the milk and continue to cook on low flame by frequent stirrings you see the rice slowly gets cooked in milk and softens. That's when you'll add sugar to it. Add sugar and jaggery combined or you may choose any one of these. Mix in well. Next, add some cardamom ground into it and continue to cook Once the rice is soft and mushy and the kheer gets creamy in consistency add some cashews and mix. Continue to stir and cook some more time and then allow it to cool and chill and it's ready to enjoy.

  • 1/2 cup Rice
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom ground
  • 10-12 Cashews (whole)
